Rock Fall at Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area on May 24, No Injuries, 2 Square Meters of Stone Debris

According to an official statement from Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area on May 26, a rock fall occurred at 2:03 p.m. on May 24 near the entrance of Tianmen Cave. The stone debris fell to an uninhabited slope approximately 70 meters away from the visitor walking path. No injuries were reported. The scenic area confirmed the falloff covered approximately 2 square meters and resulted from long-term weathering and water erosion. Subsequent inspections found no additional rockfall hazards.
