Samsung Electro-Mechanics Signs $990M AI Deal to Supply Silicon Capacitors

According to Chosun Daily, Samsung Electro-Mechanics signed a 1.5 trillion won (US$990 million) contract on May 20 to supply silicon capacitors for AI infrastructure, including GPUs and high bandwidth memory used in AI server semiconductors.

The silicon capacitors feature more than 100 times lower resistance than multilayer ceramic capacitors, which helps reduce signal loss and improve power supply stability in high-performance chips.
