SEC Releases 2026-2030 Strategic Plan Draft for Digital Asset Regulation, Clarifies CFTC Jurisdiction

According to PANews, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released a draft 2026-2030 strategic plan on June 3, proposing to establish "a robust regulatory framework for digital assets and distributed ledger technology through a rational, coherent, and principled approach." The framework will ensure custody, trading, and staking services operate under appropriate regulation while avoiding duplicative or conflicting requirements and clarifying jurisdiction between the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The plan aims to provide clear, principle-based, statutory rules for the crypto market while maintaining investor protection.
