South Korea's Prosecutors Crack Down on Digital Asset Crimes, Indict CATFI DEX Rug Pull Case

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, on June 2, Seoul's Southern District Prosecutors' Office intensified investigations into financial, securities, and digital asset crimes. The office established dedicated task forces to tackle stock manipulation and cryptocurrency fraud. Recent cases include a 1.4 billion won illicit gain case involving KOSDAQ-listed company stock manipulation and a 400 million won CATFI decentralized exchange (DEX) rug pull case involving three suspects and two accomplices. The CATFI case marked the first application of the Virtual Asset User Protection Act's fraudulent trading provision.
