Thai Baht Faces Pressure Against US Dollar on June 25 Amid High Interest Rates, Mitsubishi UFJ Says

US-2.95%
According to Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Thai baht and other Asian currencies face pressure against the US dollar on June 25 amid prolonged high US interest rates, senior FX analyst Lloyd Chan said in a research report. Chan noted this "will likely become near-term downward pressure on regional currencies, especially for those with lower yields." The bank maintains a negative outlook on the Thai baht in the near term. Though Thailand's central bank expects more robust economic growth this year, concerns remain about slower, uneven growth, Chan added.
