Two Iraqi Shia Militias Announce Disarmament Plans on June 2, Transfer Weapons to State Control

According to CCTV, two Iraqi Shia militia groups—'Al-Nujaba' (Justice League) and 'Imam Ali Brigade'—announced on June 2 they would disarm, establish committees to inventory personnel and weapons, sever formal ties with the Popular Mobilization Forces, and transfer all weapons to state control. Iraq's National Assembly First Deputy Speaker Adnan Al-Zurfi welcomed the announcement.
