U.S. Government, ETF Operators, and Companies Hold 2.8M BTC, About 14% of Total Supply

According to Digital Asset's analysis of BitcoinTreasury.net, CryptoQuant, and CoinGecko data on June 16, the U.S. government, spot Bitcoin ETF operators, and American companies collectively hold approximately 2.8 million BTC, representing about 14% of Bitcoin's current circulating supply of 20.04 million coins. The U.S. government holds 329,693 BTC acquired through criminal asset seizures, including from dark web marketplace investigations. U.S. companies hold 1.059 million BTC across 41 firms, with the largest share held by MicroStrategy. ETF operators hold 1.253 million BTC, accounting for 6% of circulating supply, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) holding 748,501 BTC.
