According to Hennepin County prosecutors, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Christy Castro was arrested in Texas on May 29. Castro is charged with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of false reporting in connection with a January federal immigration enforcement operation during which she fired a weapon and injured a Venezuelan man.

The ICE agency disputed the arrest on May 29, calling it unlawful and stating the matter should be handled at the federal level.
