U.S. Reduces Fighter Jets in Europe from 150 to 100 Aircraft on June 12

According to The New York Times report on June 12, the United States will significantly cut fighter jet deployments in European NATO allies, reducing F-16 and F-15E aircraft from 150 to 100. Naval surveillance aircraft will be decreased from 26 to 15, while all eight aerial refueling tankers will be withdrawn. The U.S. will also redeploy one aircraft carrier, multiple warships, one submarine, and one of two bomber squadrons currently stationed in Europe. The plan was outlined in a written document provided by the U.S. to NATO allies earlier this month.
