U.S. Tariff Chief Says Trump's 10% Global Tariff Could Be Reinstated After July Expiration

GateNews
According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on Tuesday that President Trump's 10% global tariff, imposed in February under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, could be reinstated after its scheduled July expiration. Greer indicated that legal ambiguity exists regarding whether the president has authority to reinstate tariffs once their 150-day term concludes. He suggested that federal law specifies the expiration date but does not clearly prohibit reactivation of the duties.
