White House Crypto Adviser Patrick Witt Defends CLARITY Act as Pro-Regulation Bill

According to The Block, White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt defended the CLARITY Act as pro-regulation and pro-enforcement legislation, responding to enforcement bodies' concerns about anti-money laundering provisions. Witt stated that as global capital flows accelerate, establishing regulatory standards is critical: "If the U.S. does not set these standards, we'll be forced to follow others' rules. This is a pro-regulation bill, and it's genuinely pro-enforcement." Senator Cynthia Lummis added that if the bill fails to pass this year, it may not face review again until 2030.
