17-Year-Old British Teenager Faces Russian Sanctions for Exposing A7A5 Stablecoin on June 5

According to Cointelegraph, on June 5, 17-year-old British teenager Alexander Browder faced Russian sanctions for exposing the A7A5 ruble stablecoin, backed by Russian financial institution Promsvyazbank, being used to evade Western sanctions imposed over the Russia-Ukraine war. Browder detailed his findings in a March report and noted he may be the youngest person ever sanctioned by Russia. The EU added A7A5 to its sanctions list in October 2025.
