ASMedia Completes US$390M Techpoint Acquisition, Targets US$800M Revenue by 2030

According to Taipei Times, Taiwanese chip designer ASMedia completed its acquisition of Techpoint for approximately US$390 million this month, expanding into high-definition video connectivity for security and automotive applications.

The company aims to double revenue to US$800 million by 2030 from US$400 million in 2025. ASMedia is accelerating development of AI server and automotive chips, including PCIe Gen 6 and Gen 7 protocols. Company president Lin Che-wei said automobile-related chips are expected to contribute 15% to 20% of revenue by 2030.
