According to Charles Schwab's announcement, the brokerage launched nearly 24/7 cryptocurrency futures trading tied to Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and Ripple on its thinkorswim platform in April 2026. The company reported $12.61 trillion in client assets and 10.3 million daily average trades during the period.
The platform upgrades also include expanded fractional-share investing with a $1 minimum threshold, new risk-management tools with pre-confirmation metrics, and enhanced options functionality across thinkorswim, Schwab Mobile, and Schwab.com. Managing Director James Kostulias said the enhancements reflect broader demand for continuous market access and institutional-style trading infrastructure in retail markets.
