China Accuses U.S. of Causing Media Access Disputes; Chinese Journalists Face Restrictions on June 3

On June 3, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning accused the U.S. of being responsible for media access disputes between the two countries. According to the Foreign Ministry, China has fully implemented three consensus points reached with the U.S., providing visas and other conveniences for American journalists to report from China. However, Chinese journalists working in the U.S. face severe restrictions on their reporting activities and have been labeled as "foreign agents" and "foreign government representatives." The Foreign Ministry called on the U.S. to honor its commitments and protect the legitimate rights of Chinese media personnel in America.
