China Urges Israel to Immediately Withdraw from Lebanon Amid Military Escalation on June 2

According to Jin10, on June 2 during an emergency UN Security Council meeting, China's UN ambassador Fu Cong urged Israel to immediately withdraw from Lebanon, citing the country's escalating military operations. Israel has crossed the Litani River and occupied Beaufort Castle, marking the deepest military penetration into Lebanon in over two decades, Fu Cong stated.

Fu Cong called for an immediate ceasefire, increased international support for Lebanon's stability, and protection of UN peacekeeping operations in the region. The ambassador noted that the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire has become nominal and warned that the situation could spiral into greater danger.
