China's Chamber of Commerce Criticizes U.S. Forced Labor Investigation as Unilateral Trade Pressure

According to the China Chamber of Commerce, the organization's spokesperson recently criticized the U.S. Trade Representative's Office for launching a Section 301 investigation into alleged forced labor practices and proposing tariff measures. The Chamber argued the investigation lacks international legal basis, violates multilateral trade rules, and imposes U.S. domestic standards unilaterally on other economies. The spokesperson stated that differential tax rates violate non-discrimination and fair competition principles, and accused the U.S. of using tariffs as political pressure tactics consistent with protectionism.
