Chinese Research Team Successfully Clones THP3-T High-Protein Gene from Wild Maize

According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Chinese research team recently successfully cloned THP3-T, the second major high-protein gene from wild maize. Combined with a previously discovered gene, this advancement can significantly increase protein content in mainstream maize varieties, reducing reliance on imported soybean meal for animal feed, reported Xinhua News Agency.
