According to the Ethereum Foundation, Hsiao-Wei Wang has resigned as co-executive director and board member, effective today, after taking a sabbatical this year. Wang, who joined the Ethereum Foundation Research team in mid-2017 as a core Layer 1 researcher and had served as co-executive director since March 2025, said her decision came after her break. Her departure follows the resignation of former co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak in February, along with recent exits of senior researchers and leaders from the organization. Vitalik Buterin praised Wang's decade-long contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem, describing the executive role as "perhaps the most challenging position in the Ethereum Foundation, at one of the most challenging times for Ethereum."
