European Benchmark Indices Open Mixed on May 21; DAX, FTSE 100 and CAC 40 Post Losses

On May 21 morning, major European stock indices opened with mixed signals. The German DAX 30 fell 41.78 points, down 0.17% to 24,690.50; the UK FTSE 100 declined 59.89 points, down 0.57% to 10,372.45; the French CAC 40 dropped 13.88 points, down 0.17% to 8,103.54; and the Stoxx Europe 50 index fell 17.51 points, down 0.29% to 5,958.56.

The Spanish IBEX 35 rose 2.54 points, up 0.01% to 18,033.64, while the Italian FTSE MIB gained 0.84 points, up marginally to 49,182.50.
