Intel Hits All-Time High, Semiconductor Index Surges 6.42% as U.S. Stocks Rally on June 18

U.S. stocks closed higher on June 18, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.14%, the S&P 500 up 1.08%, and the Nasdaq Composite gaining 1.91%. Intel surged over 10%, reaching an all-time high with market capitalization exceeding $670 billion, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (a gauge of U.S. semiconductor stocks) jumped 6.42% to record levels.

Micron Technology rose over 8%, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company climbed nearly 7%, and Qualcomm, Broadcom, and Advanced Micro Devices also posted significant gains. Meanwhile, COMEX gold futures fell 3.5%, pressured by a stronger U.S. dollar index.
