Iran's PGSA Prohibits Off-Route Vessels From Safe Passage Guarantee on June 25

Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Management Authority (PGSA) announced on June 25 that vessels not following the organization's designated shipping lanes will no longer be guaranteed safe passage. Ship owners, operators, and vessel commanders are held responsible for consequences resulting from use of unauthorized routes. Vessels operating outside approved lanes will also be ineligible for insurance or liability coverage.
