Latin American Stocks Rise 0.6% on June 2, Brazil Ignores U.S. 25% Tariff Threat

On June 2, Latin American equities rose as investors brushed aside U.S. threats to impose 25% tariffs on Brazilian imports and awaited diplomatic progress in the Middle East. The MSCI Latin America index gained 0.6%, with the corresponding currency index rising 0.4%. Brazil's benchmark stock index advanced 1.4%, while the real extended gains for a fourth consecutive trading day against the U.S. dollar.
