Lula Says Brazil Will Seek Alternative Trading Partners If U.S. Won't Buy

According to Brazilian news agency, President Lula said today (June 3) that Brazil will seek alternative commercial partnerships to offset negative impacts from U.S. trade policies. "If the U.S. doesn't want to buy, we will sell to those who want to," Lula stated during a ministerial meeting at the Palácio da Alvorada. He emphasized that Brazil is an independent nation and will not bow to major powers. Lula also announced his decision to attend the Group of Seven leaders' summit scheduled for June in France, which was not originally in his plans.
