According to Guru Club, on June 1, an OpenAI team demonstrated an agentic operating system for phones at Voice Hack Night, where all interfaces were generated in real-time without invoking traditional apps. The system uses end-side local models to generate UI on the fly while offloading reasoning to cloud-based GPT. In the demo, developers controlled the system via voice commands to book flights, manage calendar events, check AI news, send emails, and create to-do lists.
