Orbs announced V5, a protocol upgrade deployed on Ethereum and Arbitrum designed to lower infrastructure costs and improve cross-chain trading verification. The Layer 3 infrastructure, which powers decentralized trading tools including dTWAP, dLIMIT and Liquidity Hub, has processed over $14 billion in trading volume across more than 10 blockchain networks and 30+ decentralized exchange integrations since V4's release, generating $3.2 million in protocol revenue.

The upgrade introduces Committee Sync, a mechanism that propagates authoritative Layer 3 committee state across EVM-compatible chains using Guardian signatures, significantly reducing per-chain verification costs. Orbs plans to expand V5 support to additional networks including Base, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche and Linea in coming months. No user funds move through the protocol during synchronization, only signed state data.
