President Milei Exempts Registered Crypto Exchanges From Argentina's 1.2% Cheque Tax

According to Bitcoin.com News, on June 18, President Javier Milei signed Executive Order 475/2026 exempting registered virtual asset service providers (VASPs) from Argentina's 1.2% cheque tax. The tax, which has applied to crypto exchange deposits and withdrawals since November 2021, will now be lifted for regulated exchanges, allowing them to reduce fees for users. Industry leaders including Julian Colombo of Bitso stated the measure would enable platforms to offer more competitive crypto products in the country.
