Republican Rep. Steil Proposes Ban on Congressional Betting in Prediction Markets on June 18

On June 18, Republican Representative Bryan Steil of Wisconsin proposed a provision that would prohibit members of Congress and their relatives from betting on prediction markets related to policy, politics, and elections. The provision will be attached to pending legislation that would also ban congressmembers from purchasing new individual stocks unless funded by dividends from existing holdings.
