Solana Launches Native On-Chain Subscription Infrastructure on Mainnet

SOL-5.7%

On June 2, Solana launched a native on-chain subscription and allowance infrastructure, enabling developers to build recurring payment systems, delegated spending mechanisms, and billing solutions directly on the blockchain. The framework, known as Solana Subscriptions and Allowances, has passed security reviews by Cantina and Spearbit and is now available as an open-source solution on mainnet.

The infrastructure introduces three payment models: Allowances, which lets users authorize spending up to predefined limits; Recurring Delegations, enabling scheduled recurring payments for payroll and contractor compensation; and Subscription Plans, allowing merchants to publish fixed pricing tiers. The framework supports SPL Token and Token-2022 standards and has been integrated by partners including Helius, Dynamic, and Confirmo, which use it for API subscriptions, wallet transactions, and invoice automation respectively.
