According to the Financial Times, on May 17, two Federal Reserve officials nominated by President Trump opposed letting Chairman Powell serve as interim leader without time limits. Governors Milan and Bowman voted against and abstained respectively, citing the lack of a defined timeframe. In a joint statement, they said they support restricting Powell’s interim tenure to one week minimum but could accept a maximum one-month period.
