WeChat Reading Launches Official Skill for AI Direct Access to Personal Bookshelf and Reading Notes

According to Beating, WeChat Reading launched an official Skill allowing users to connect their personal accounts to AI assistants via API Key. The feature enables large language models to directly access private bookshelves, highlighted notes, and reading activity data.

The Skill provides six core capabilities: viewing personal library, analyzing reading habits, extracting and exporting highlights, searching the book catalog, checking book details with reading progress, and receiving personalized recommendations based on actual reading history. WeChat Reading clarified that API Key-accessed data is visible only to the user, replacing previous workflows reliant on third-party scripts or manual exports.
