WMO Predicts Moderate to Strong El Nino Formation, Global Temperatures to Rise Through November

According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on June 2, a moderate to strong El Nino phenomenon is forming as abnormally warm ocean waters intensify atmospheric conditions. The WMO forecasts that most regions globally will experience above-average temperatures during June through August, with increased risk of extreme weather events. The organization added that El Nino is likely to persist through November.
