According to Yann LeCun, the Turing Award-winning AI pioneer and Meta's chief AI scientist, Elon Musk's xAI has "failed in some ways" due to mass departures of core founding team members and difficulty attracting top talent. LeCun further warned that most AI labs rely on investor funding to subsidize user costs, and without significant reductions in computational expenses or price increases in the near term, the entire AI industry faces a catastrophic bubble burst. His remarks align with Wall Street concerns over semiconductor stock valuations. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF's holdings, including Nvidia and TSMC, have nearly doubled in six months, with the ETF's forward P/E ratio now exceeding 31 times, the highest in over a year. Morgan Stanley data shows approximately 80% of semiconductor companies in the S&P 500 have raised earnings estimates, marking the highest proportion since 2003.
