Apollo Co-President: Companies Waste AI Spending on Low-Value Tasks

According to John Zito, co-president of Apollo Global Management's asset management division, many enterprises deploy artificial intelligence tools on mundane tasks that fail to justify their high costs and substantial computational resource consumption. Zito cited an example: "Our intelligence is so low that we use AI tools to look up recipes for French toast—this is why you see AI prices going up." He suggested the expense of AI infrastructure cannot be rationalized by current deployment patterns.
