According to Bloomberg, Sam Bankman-Fried, former FTX co-founder and CEO, submitted a pardon application to the Office of the Pardon Attorney within the U.S. Department of Justice on Monday, June 8. In an exclusive FOX Business interview, Bankman-Fried stated he "absolutely" seeks a presidential pardon from Trump, though he declined to confirm whether his family is lobbying the administration on his behalf.
The pardon request triggered a sharp market reaction. FTX's native token, FTT, surged 45% to approximately $0.33 on Monday. However, the rally leaves FTT still 99.5% below its all-time high of $84 reached during FTX's peak operations.
