According to SEMI, global semiconductor equipment sales reached $365.5 billion in Q1 2026, up 14% year-over-year and 1% quarter-over-quarter, marking a record quarterly high. South Korea surpassed Taiwan to rank second globally by regional sales.

SEMI attributed the growth to sustained investment momentum in artificial intelligence, with semiconductor companies ramping production and advancing manufacturing technology. Investment concentrated on advanced logic processes, DRAM, and advanced packaging.
