Russia Demands U.S. Sanctions Waiver for December G20 Summit Participation

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia's participation in the G20 summit scheduled for December 14–15 in Miami is being obstructed, as announced on June 13. Russian Industrial and Entrepreneurial Union and Russian Academy of Sciences are on U.S. sanctions lists, preventing related personnel from entering the country, Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyaev stated. Russia rejected the restriction and lodged diplomatic protests with the U.S., warning it will not recognize any G20 meeting or outcomes without Russian participation.
