SEC Elevates Crypto to Strategic Priority Through 2030, Unveils 5-Year Roadmap on June 2

On June 2, U.S. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins unveiled the agency's Draft Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2026-2030, placing blockchain and digital assets among its long-term priorities. The roadmap focuses on clearer regulations for tokenization, staking, custody, and digital asset markets. According to the plan, the SEC intends to support innovation while maintaining investor protections and market fairness. Atkins stated that blockchain technologies have the potential to transform America's financial infrastructure. The agency also plans to coordinate with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to clarify jurisdictional boundaries in crypto regulation.
