Pendulum is an open-source blockchain that attempts to bridge the gap between fiat and DeFi ecosystems by creating a fiat-optimized smart contract blockchain. It is built on Substrate, allowing DeFi applications to connect to the foreign exchange market and build automated market makers (AMMs) to offer scalable liquidity pools for fiat currencies and yield earning opportunities for fiat token holders. With the goal of becoming a Polkadot parachain for maximum security and interoperability, Pendulum strives to bring the benefits of DeFi to the world of fiat.
